Fort Simpson, NT

Fort Simpson is your gateway to the Nahanni National Park Reserve and the regional centre of the Dehcho region. Located at the junction of the Liard and Mackenzie River’s, Fort Simpson is a small village with an estimated population of 1250 people.

A visit to Fort Simpson is rich in Indigenous culture and tradition. First Nations people have used this as a seasonal gathering place, appropriately calling the island Łíídlı Kųę – "the place where rivers come together."
